Jonathan Case Pens a Love Letter

Periscope Studios continues to be THE place to be for outstanding creators!  Steve Lieber, Erika Moen, Terry Dodson, Ron Chan, Jeff Parker, Cat Farris, Colleen Coover..the list of amazing talent goes on and on.

Add to that list, Jonathan Case.  Case has created a new graphic novel that threatens to be awesome!

“Deep beneath the waves, a creature named Grue broods. He no longer wants to eat lusty beachgoers, no matter how their hormones call to him. A chorus of crabs urges him to reconsider. After all, people are delicious! But this monster has changed. Grue found Shakespeare’s plays in cola bottles and, through them, a new heart. Now he yearns to join the world above.

When his first attempt ends… poorly, Grue searches for the person who cast the plays into the sea. What he finds is love in the arms of Giulietta—a woman trapped in her own world. When she and Grue meet, Giulietta believes her prayers are answered. But people have gone missing and Giulietta’s nephew is the prime suspect. With his past catching up to him, Grue must decide if becoming a new man means ignoring the monster he was.

Rising from a brine of drive-in pulp and gentle poetry, Dear Creature is the love story you never imagined!”

Dear Creature is available in October from Tor Books.  However, if you are interested in a  real treat, Case has a fantastic offer for early orders.  These first 300 copies ship in October with Jonathan’s signature and a unique piece of original art used in the making of the book. You might get a character design, a page layout, or a doodle of one of the characters tucked into your copy.

You can order the special edition from Case’s store.  Or you can order the regular edition from the link below.

I have the first three chapters of this book (self-published under the title “Sea Freak”) and they are *awesome*. Like, mind-blowing.
