WB Picks Up Oni’s Rascal Raccoon’s Raving Revenge For Big Screen Treatment

The Hollywood Reporter is (ahem) reporting that Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to Brendan Hay and Justin Wagner’s Rascal Raccoon’s Raving Revenge graphic novel.  The book, announced at SDCC, was published by Oni in the fall of 2011.  The story is kind of a cross between Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Grant Morrison’s The Coyote Gospel, with the main characters of the book crossing over in to the real world and interacting with their creators.

Matt Fogel, who wrote the third intallment of the Big Momma franchise is attached to adapt the screenplay, and A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas helmer Todd Strauss-Schulson attached to direct. It looks like WB is going to do a live action/CGI hybrid for the film, allowing for more interesting visuals. No word yet on a release date.
