
Deadline is reporting that the 2004 graphic novel, Hench, has been optioned by NBC and is in development by Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey’s Film 44 and Universal TV. The show is to be written Alexandra Cunningham, the head writer on the recent NBC show Prime Suspect.
Hench is based on the AiT/Planet LAR comic by Adam Beechen and Manny Bello which centers on a regular guy who, in order to support his family, gets jobs temping for super villains. The book was a minor hit when it was released and launched the careers of both Beechen and Bello. Beechen has gone on to work at DC and Wildstorm while Bello re-teamed with Beechen for 2008′s Dugout graphic novel.
