Finalists Announced For CYBILS Awards


Cybils
The Children and Young Adult Bloggers’ Literary Awards (CYBILS) are given each year by bloggers for the year’s best children’s and young adult titles. Nominations open to the public on October 1st.  The nominations are then put before a panel of judges who judges (volunteer bloggers who contribute at least monthly to a blog that’s primarily about children’s or young adult literature).

The finalists for the 2012 graphic novel awards are:

Elementary/Middle Grade
Annie Sullivan and the Trials of Helen Keller, by Joseph Lambert
Giants Beware! by Jorge Aguirre and Rafael Rosado
Hilda and the Midnight Giant, by Luke Pearson
Little White Duck: A Childhood in China, by Na Liu and Andrés Vera Martínez
Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales: Big Bad Ironclad! by Nathan Hale

Young Adult
Darkroom: A Memoir in Black and White, by Lila Quintero Weaver
Drama, by Raina Telgemeier
Friends with Boys, by Faith Erin Hicks
Ichiro, by Ryan Inzana
Marathon, by Boaz Yakin

There are quite a few deserving titles on those lists!  Awards will be announced February 14th.  Good luck to the finalists!
