This was one of those pages where Keri took the page far beyond anything I could have imagined. It was her idea to add the little details like the books falling between the panels and I LOVE the ink wash on the final panel.
In my head, Ana is pulling out the books carefully, looking for the secret lever which will allow the bookcase to swing away freely. Unfortunately, with the people coming up the stairs, she is running out of time.
When I wrote the piece I kind of had the scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark playing in my head. If Indiana Jones had a blaster, he would not go for subtlety when faced with a ticking clock. Oh wait. he did have a blaster…when he was Han Solo!
